Deltagate Stuck???

Default Deltagate Stuck???

I bought a deltagate used and it builds too much boost. I ordered a green spring(3-5) from turbonetics and put it in. And im still building too much boost. If i take the spring out completely and drive the car the dump tube roars. Is it possible the wastegate is broke or something..........side nipple is connected to a pressure source(intake manifold)

uhmm you can take it apart..I think they sell rebuild parts

but im wondering if the valve is stuck or something...but when the spring is out and i put it together it opens up without any problems....and i dont build any boost

Whats wrong is the entire wastegate design. The thing was designed to spike..they call it the "deltagate" feature. under a load it'll spike the boost and thats why they are such shitty wastegates and everybody gets rid of them for a Tial. Cut your loses and get a tial, its cheaper than a new motor

me too, yes deltagates are known for spiking... are you running any kind of manual boost controller? also try connecting ur boost source to the turbo nipple... because the manifold is going to boost u a tad bit higher then the actual boost the turbo nipple will read

using deltagate. getting signal from compressor housing. no problems.

Well the reason i have it hooked to the manifold is because id rather have the wastegate open at 3-5lbs which i know my motor will be getting rather than what the turbo will be putting out.....you lose a couple lbs through the intercooler. And i know the wastegate spikes but plenty of people i know dont have any problems. I have the greddy profec-b actualy, but it cant raise the boost or control it until the wastegate is setting. ie. wastegate opens at 3lbs i can raise it above that...but wasegate isnt opening so the controller isnt controling it.....correct me if i have it wrong
