they say wheel design. I personally think all the precision turbos are hype except the sc61. I would just get a regular Garrett.

SC's are high performance T3/T4's Garrett's performance divison is Precision turbos. People are making great #'s with them and are worth every penny. Unfortunetly they are not ball bearing, but I'd still sport one any day.
All Hype? The SC family has proven to make great #'s especially the SC61. Come on Whitey, you know you want one, then you will be offically on the HT bandwagon
hah,

The only reason I say they're hype is cause besides the SC61 they are all just overpriced T3/T4. I think the SC61 is worth the money cause it comes standard with the 360 thrust bearings and all the options. But the rest of the precision family are just rebadged garrett stuff. So there's no point in paying the extra for the precision name. Yeah precision says they do super cool top secret stuff to them to make it better but I can't see your setup being that great to maximize all that potential. So I say stick with a garrett turbo and invest that extra into another part of the motor.
And Jeff you know me too well cause
My bitch will be a GT series turbo cause ball bearings are the way to go. GT35R with a 63 compressor is what I want (and get rid of the d-series).

Re:Deciding on a t3/t4
Precision does use all Garrett componets, however The housings are made by precision themselves, The exhaust housings are extruded honed and have a nicer ported aluminum compressor housings. The SC61 uses the Compressor wheel out of the GT30R . The 82mm, 56 Trim GT40 compressor. The -0015 is the 76mm 56 Trim. 10 lb/min less flow. The 82mm/56 Trim can also be found in some GT35R's. The SC60, SC51, SC53, SC54 all have a 60-1 compressor wheel. The only difference is the family of turbines that drive the compressor.
The only reason to go with a precision is for the sizing options, if your on a tight budget just stick with a garrett.
