Default Day 3 battle, leaky oil feed. *pipe up stevemode*

ok i cannot win with this oil feed.

stealthmodes 14b fitting got a little chewed on my first turbo because it didnt thread far enough to get past a few bad threads. so when i put it into the new turbo of course its all loose and shitty. So I got a coupler and another fitting with deeper threads.

Put that in and it all still leaks. So next I tried a hi-temp epoxy putty, and globbed that on around the fitting, seems to seep past that.

this is whats on there now.

My next idea is to chip all that crap back off of there, and re-use the banjo bolt fitting from the original dsm oil lines, cut the end off my stevemode line, and clamp it on to the dsm fitting. My only problem is I don't know if the oil line has a big enough inner diameter to go over the dsm fittings tube. Here's a picture of that.

Anyone have any idea how big the inside of the stainless feed lines in steve's kits are, think it will go over that?

Just by looking it appears you used a "brass" fitting, which I would then assume is a Standard thread pitch, and the 14b is a metric fitting, no wonder it leaks?

I'd say sport the banjo fitting with the feed line over it and some clamps (if it fits) SS line isnt nearly as flexiable as others.

I don't think that pipe is going into the oil line.

After looking at the picture, I think I would use the banjo with the pipe that's connected, but at the end of the pipe, weld a -4 onto the end of it. Cut the "turbo side" threads off the fitting you're using now, and weld that (really good) to the end of the pipe.

yeah it was a brass fitting from napa but the threads appeared to match, but it wouldnt surprise me if they were different.

and i wanna go with the banjo fitting but im not gonna cut the end off of it til i know its gonna fit, otherwise ill really be screwed.

i could tough it out for a while, and order another fitting from steve, but i dont know if thats gonna work too well at this point.

hmm, that might work. that'd mean a trip to woodburn, man i wish my shop was closer. your fittings are steel right?

i dunno how in the hell id cut those threads off. not alot of tooling for that.

Now that I think about what Jeff said, all of my 1/8 fittings are brass or aluminum, and those metric fittings are always steel or aluminum. That fitting I sent you for the turbo is steel. You just need to find a way to make the end of that pipe a -4 and you'll be good.

what if i weld the fitting directly to the pipe, that will work wont it?

do you have any of that steel braided line around that you can measure the I.D. for me?

double flare the steel line like a brake line(put a tube nut on it first) then get a fitting to go from a flare fitting to the an fitting.

i been all over parts stores and their huge fitting bins, i have yet to find a suitable fitting to solve this ----.

just for clarity what exact fittings are each end? turbo and oi line side?

lots of places dont sell metrix fittings, if you find a hydrolic shop, they have commie to standard size adapters. i have to do this with one of my turbos cause the fitting was gone

I am almost certain you can get that stock fitting/tube to work. It will just look ghetto. Cut the end of it so it's nice and straight, dont flare it unless you think you need to. I think the ID of the line that steve sells is pretty small, I dont know maybe 1/4 or smaller? Reguardless take the fitting off the end of the SS line, then lube the ---- out of the tube and slip it on, throw on a few hose clamps and your good to go. Otherwise just order the Metric to -4an fitting, I think its just a 10x1.25 to -4
