I have this compressor wheel out of a turbo that i rebuilt, It got pressed up against the compressor housing and a little bit of some of the fins got shaved off. Is this ok to use in a turbo, or is there a way to mesure the clearance between the housing and compressor wheel?

 

are you honestly asking if its okay to use a compressor wheel that has some of the fins shaved off? :1

do you think a 4 blade boat prop would make the boat go zoom-zoom if it only had 2

 

but its only a little, maybe .07"

 

did you measure this with a feeler gauge? Or are you making 70thousands up? Sounds too much to me, but i'll measure mine for you tommorrow

picture wont really help when your dealing with the thickness of 15 or so hairs from your head. you dont know what you measured this with? if you can see clearly that the fins arent *very* close to the housing, the wheel is fucked.

 

I would have the turbo rebuilt by a professional.. odds are they will repoair or replace the wheel

 

what compressor wheel off what turbo? I might have a spare i can sell ya. usually a scrapped wheel isn't such a good idea to use.

 

It is a T3 turbo w/ a .60 a/r compressor housing, i'm not sure of where the turbo came from or what it came off of.
