D17 custom turbo kit
Hey guys, first post here....I saw the forum in Sport Compact Car Mag and I have been really impressed....
Anyhow, I'm trying to turbo my 7thgen D17....Any suggestions for a very cost efficient way of turboing it? I like seeing numbers like 350 bux (for the setup on the twin turbo d16)...but it could very possibly be more then that....
I want something that will spool quickly, the guys on the 7thgencivic site are running a custom T3 kit and making between 200 and 230whp, but they are selling it for $2900
Can you custom a manifold for this engine from an older D-series?
Where can I find a cheap turbo and intercooler?

350$ for twin turbo setup
what all did it have that is so hard to beleave
unless the guy like needed kidney surgery the
next day and just had to sale everything he owned
super fast... even junkyard prices, and decent deals
wont net you 350$...on a single turbo setup.

I built a couple of manifolds for the guys on that forum - i can't remember names now. I can still make them for you but you are looking at around $275.00 for just the manifold.
The fuel systen is a little more complicated than the older cars - but most of the cars i have turboed are returnless systems. $350 no way! $1800 - $2500 getting closer.
If you realy know what you are doing and you are one of the lucky ones to find a good used turbo and intercooler, Piping, Etc you may get it under $1000.00 but with a car that new i wouldn't want any junk on it.

Well, I will be doing it for under 1k I already have the turbo and bov....and I have priced the other things...I have lots of friends with lots of parts so it helps...I need a manifold though and a downpipe...HKS is putting out a log manifold for my car for $250...pretty good price...revhard has a tubular manifold but it runs closer to $400....I was thinking of getting the piping from the group buy here...
