Default D16Z6 turbo trim ?

The search function only returned alot of machisimo about who is gayer.

Anyway; my current setup
D16z6 with 9.0:1 JE pistons & forged Eagle rods
Mitsubishi 14G
Drag exh manifold
restrictive downpipe to accomodate AC
440cc injectors
AEM Fuel Regulator
Greddy E-Manage
MSD Digital 6
NGK 1 degree cold
Nology hotwires
Chipped P28 ECU. Rev limit set @ 9,500.
Spearco FMIC
XL dual stage MBC
Racing clutch
Fluidyne radiator & FAL fan
I disabled the VTEC because I hadn't got a dyno tuning since the prior tuning @ 6 psi

Dumbass iron manifold cracked (@ the bottom @ 10 psi) b4 I could get back to the dyno to see what I was making. I'm going custom, thick mild steel w/an offest to accomodate a 2.5 (Which matches up to my no cat, 2X resonator 2.5 piping) downpipe & a Walboro 255 in tank pump.

Question:
Even though the existing 14G is fun, this would be my opportunity to step it up to a Garret w/an external wastegate. Looking for a good mix of boost w/minimal lag.
Goal would be 235 WHP.

Any reccomendations ?

Also a EVOIII 16G would have to be in consideration as well.

your runnin 9---RPM's on a stock head? I would consider beefin that up a bit. I would've redone the head before the bottom end. 235HP can be acheived with a stock bottom end. Look around on the site...
Thats my opinion and thats what the thread is about....

The 14B is WAY PLENTY for 235whp... Hell the pre-*** turbo kits can make that with the boost jacked...

It's a 14G. I didn't know that there was such a thing myself when I bought it. But it's definetly a G, not a B. U can call Mitsubishi to ask them why.
There's one up on EBay right now;
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...sPageName=WDVW

235 WHP on stock pistons & rods in a 1.6L SOHC ? This is a daily drive. Not a one time launch project.
In my limited experience w/turbos & the D16Z6, I say do the rods & pistons 1st. I can't see the stock rings handling 15 psi or greater for an extended amount of time.

I've got a '97 GST w/a 20G for real fun. I just want to keep my DelSlow from putting me to sleep.

I wish that that damn Drag manifold had lasted another week, so that I would've had an idea what my current setup would've done. That's Y I'm considering the EVOIII 16G. As I understand it. The 14 & 16 R interchangeable between the exhaust manifold & the downpipe. EVOIII's can be had for $550 w/internal wastegate. If I p/u a T3/T4 it would be around $350 plus external wastegate.

So the EVOIII can be done after the manifold is replaced. With the T3/T4, I would have to commit to it B4 the manifold is fabricated.

Decision, Decisions...

Also the guy that will be doing the manifold is one of those guys the general public doesn't know about. He does head work for the highend shops. So having him port the head is an option. I'll talk to him about it tomorrow.

I was looking for a post with a 215hp D16Z6 with stock internals. 15HP can be made easily with your start. I will keep looking....
