Default D16Z6 Turbo Plans - suggestions welcome

I just thought I would share my plans:

Current Mods:
*mild ported head
*BBK 62mm throttle body
*ported intake manifold to match throttle body and head
*ZEX 59300 cam
*Catco free flow catalytic converter
*Bosal Brospeed cat-back
*Chikara headder
*Edel Brock timimg gear

Future Plan - Turbo
Below is a list of the parts I have already:
*Garrett T3 Turbo - 42/48AR from 740 turbo volvo
*Apexi V-AFC
*ACT clutch kit (part# HC5-XTSS)
*DSM 450cc injectors
*Resistor pack & inline resistors
*DSM side mount intercooler
*Custom manifold
*Down pipe from Saab 9000
*Bosch blow-off valve

I hope to install the Turbo during spring or summer. Right now the winter weather sucks.

I can't wait for the weather to get better. I am very anxious to install the turbo. I hope I am not dissapointed with the result. By the way, the name Stan is my childhood name while growing up in Jamaica.

I know how you fell. Somtimes I don't like to talk about it for the same reasons you have listed .

Used2baracer, thanks for your suggestions. The reason why I have chosen some of the parts are as follows:
*Turbo....cost $35.00. It has been rebuilt.
*Apexi V-AFC....I have done a lot of reading and decided that I will not go over 8psi on the stock internals.
*Resistor pack & inline resistor....I will most likely choose the inline resistor. Looks like it's easier to install.
*Intercooler....cost $15.00. It looks like new so I could not pass it up. I also wanted a sleeper look
*Saab down-pipe....cost $5.00. It is 21/4 inches in diameter. I thought it would be good for the D16Z6.

If the outcome of this project is satisfying, I will upgrade the intercooler to a front mount. If you are sure the 3" down-pipe will do more justice than the 21/4", I will get one.

Thanks again for your input.

cool... I am currently doing a sleeper project on my D16Z6 crx... I have a t-25, 14b and a 16g to choose from. I will probably go 14b first but anyway, I am using the 1g eclipse sidemount also, but it will be mounted inside the engine bay for special "what the ---- does that guy have" sleeper action... I will post pics in 2-3 days... oh yeah, the reason I recommended a bigger downpipe is because I went from open downpipe to 2" on my d16y7 w/ 16g and lost about 75hp

What the hell are you waiting for? Get in there and get some boost buddy! It only feels cold until your fingers go numb, and then you can pull wrenches harder because you cant feel it. Cold wheather is perfect.

OH ----!! Based on the size of our engine, I never thought we would loose so much HP because of a 2" exhaust pipe. I thought 2" would be good! Now I know it's not good with boost. For a start I am going to use the 21/4" to get the car running and then get a custom 3" down-pipe. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I wish you all the best with your project.
