Default d16y8 clutch. how much hp it good for

title says it all.. basicly just wanna know how much power the stock clutch can handle. parting everything together. gonna run low psi aiming for like 200ish whp. then rebuilding a spare d16 with fj rods/vitaras and plan on turning up the boost/retune and changing the clutch then. trying to avoid changing the clutch before then.

thanks

stock clutch will hold at 200hp for about 2 weeks of normal driving.

it will start to slip if your on the highway pulling... then it will start to slip in lower gears... then it's junk.

That's weird. Stock clutch should hold up better than that... I would think. I've been told stockies can hold up to closer 225-250hp (English Racing). I've been running my stock civic clutch with, hell.. who know how many miles for a couple months on 8psi, no slips. Still breaks the tires loose in 3rd at higher RPM under boost on wet days. I have a D16Z6, but the tranny/clutch should be about the same. My car just turned 230k on original motor, no leaks, no smoke or oil consumption. Clutch still feels good too. I drive freeway everyday to work 42 miles round trip. Gets boring out there... so you know I'm in boost a lot.

If you have everything apart already.... might as well swap it out so you don't have to get in there again for a while. If my motor was already out, I would have changed it. I'm just waiting to see how long mine will last, but its good for now!
