DIY= Do It Yourself
If u have questions other then " tell me what to do to make my car fast" then ask. but dont ask us to make ur setup for you NOOB |
Re: D15B2 turbo
I just wanted to know what products are better for the blow off valve and if my t3 turbo was a ood choice? I'm looking for reasonable prices. Just show me the path!

Re: D15B2 turbo
good choice of turbo, that is the same one i will be running on my d15b7. keep it at around 170whp (5-7psi) if you want your d15 to live for awhile. the rods in these bottom ends are toothpicks! as for bov i would suggest a 1g dsm bov. they work great for low boost and can be had for cheap.

All good points now you need a way of tuning it turbo edit, afc hack, zdyne, any of these will do good for you. Get a dsm sidemount as well unless u want a fmic. You wont have 250hp but low boost you should be fine, i got same motor not turbo though and the rods are the same size of a ink pen, just dont go boost happy and do some good tuning and you should have a fun car to drive. I think that should give you a good start. |

Re: D15B2 turbo
Im Turboing the same engine as you as of now. Just keep reading around and learning about tuning and the engine setups and ----. Thats the best you can. I found out that no one is just gonna hand you a setup. You could aways get some aftermarket rods to halp you get a little more HP but then othere things will start to break. I had the same HP goals as you when i first got my turbo. So for now im just gonna run my d15 on like 5 pounds. I went ahead a picked up a d16 motor from some kid for $100. when i save up some money im gonna build that motor up and then maybe i can reach around 250-260 HP. But just keep reasearching everything. Leqarn as much as you can about turboing it first. It makes everything a little easier.

Re: D15B2 turbo
The only d15 rods available for about 600 from Crower I believe. Just boost it, blow it, and learn from your mistakes and your next setup will be better. B2's are only good for blowing up. 8)

Re: D15B2 turbo
i boosted my b2... ran 7psi and didnt have any probs for 5k miles. starting loosing compression with 155k on the odo and i pulled it out

Re: D15B2 turbo
People are pussies, honda pistons are dinky as well, mixed with the shorter stroke a b2 does fine with an uberdata tune and a wideband at 7 psi. If you can tune it you can see double digit psi on a 14b with high compression and over 200 whp....i've seen it :)
i have a d15b2 at 7 psi, no problem. but you're not going to make 250 hp :-* |
Re: D15B2 turbo
Where I work, we rebuild engines. Lot and lots of engines. I base part of my engine judgements on what breaks on an engine when it comes in either as a warranty or a core. The ONLY engine that FREQUENTLY has a problem with broken CRANKSHAFTS is the D15B2. I recommend you do what everyone says, blow the ---- out of it (on video) while attempting 250hp, and get a bigger one next time.

thats awesome. |
Re: D15B2 turbo
keep it at 7psi and it'll last you through the summer. just don't rape it continuously and it'll last for a good while. and don't by a racing clutch and dump it at 7k, then your crank will be fine.
