Default custom turbo exaust manifolds...

Ok this is the deal, im trying to find out what im gonna do about the turbo manifold. As far as I know, anybody who turboed (my car is an 88 Honda Accord LXI) an A20A3 engine like the one in my accord had to have the turbo manifold custom made. Who makes them? The ports on the head arent even close to any other honda engine...

if your looking to make one your self you can take a exhaust gasket to a machine shop and have a plate made for around 100$ then order weld els from mcmaster and either rent a welded or you can take it to a welding shop showing them what you want made and it should cost much less than 800$

Depending on how much room you have.. if you can tell me very detailed how you need it built I could make one for around $250. I have no idea how tight your engine bay is though so it would all depend on your ability to explain it to me. If your in PA just bring the car over.

How thick do the primary tubes have to be? is 14 ga steel tube good or do you have to go bigger? My friend has a mig welder hed let me use but from what ive found out, its better to use a tig... Oh well. Anyways, Todd, where in PA are you? Im in the Buffalo area... I have a spare head, and a fair amount of room in my engine compartment (bye bye ac and condenser fan), im looking for a manifold with a T3 exaust flange and external WG flange too

17055 is my zip. I'm Next to Harrisburg. 14g pipe should work.. I think you will find its easier to work with the weld els from mastercarr though. its pretty easy to throw one of these things together. and you can mig it.. Just watch how much heat you get in the flange. Do you have a digital cam? We could probably work something out and I could do it. Its a good learning experience though so you might want to do it yoruself. I can walk you throught the build if you need help.

Where can I find out more about this mastercarr stuff (sorry I dont know anything about it) Also how thick do the flanges need to be? The thing im not sure about is that my friend has a only like a 100 amp mig welder... is that enough?

you should be alright with that welder. www.mcmaster.com is the web site. Look for butt weld fittings. 1.5" schedule 40. The trick to welding them right is going to be putting a bevel on the edges so you have a nice wide groove to fill in. Your flanges should be alteast 3/8" thick.
