custom intercoolers?

Re:custom intercoolers?
i dont know the exact formula, but yeah, the more surface area the temperature charge exchanging unit(intercooler, water or air) has, the more the more effective its cooling properties will be. lots of variables though. Engine bay temp, size of pipes, turbo, blah blah blah. itll be an improvement.

I think he means splitting off the end tanks and welding 2 together, either to make them thicker or longer...
Yeah more cooling area = more cooling so it will work fine, just make sure to water test it after its welded up

I'm planning on welding 3 dsm smics together. I'll chop the tanks off one, one tank off each of the other 2 smics then weld custom pipes on the end. Should be a fun little project. total cost (free welding) = 70bucks. (I love junkyard finds) If I get to it anytime soon I'll let you know how it turns out.
