a freind just offered me a CT20 off a gas Toyota 4runner for 40$
is it a good deal or what? and how much can they flow up too!
ive heard they are not reliable has anyone hear used one?

 

Not too shure on the CT20 , I'd say the only good CT is a CT26.

 

read that the CT20 turbo is limited, a lot of lag and it doesn't make a lot of power. also that it's expensive to replace

Once i had a brand new ct 20 it lewkd like a awsome turbo with the big Compressor housing, then i put it in and the performance was Fair, so i was dissapionted.

Then i started searching the web and found a PDF on it, the First line was , """THIS IS A FAR FROM PERFECT TURBO"""
I was Improved buy the CT26 Which came reccomended.

I had to boost 1.5 bar to get some real power out of it, thats 20psi i tink..

 

Yeah I've heard the same about them. If I'm correct, I believe the CT-20 was Toyota's first turbo that they designed and built.
