Default Crude *** oldsmobile

This is my first post and I thought that I would put up a project that has long been dead, but not forgotten. My 89 olds toronado trofeo was the nasty Buick back in my home town when people would meet up near the tire shop. Ran a 14.5 @95 , which by no means is earth shattering, but the car was 4speed auto, 3900 lbs, turboed in 36 hours with less than $300 in the project (turbo donated on condition it was used). I only have 2 pics of the car and engine bay and it is as homemade as all get out. Hell, I even used natural gas fex hose as the oil drain pipe, (yea I was a broke *** **** in college). Now that I have more disposable income, I am going to work in other projects as well.

3800 engine with over 140k, ran solid. Turbo was a garrett T3 with .60 a/r compressor and .48 turbine (small) engine management was chrysler lebaron fuel press regulator...manifold was welded by me though it was crude. My friend did a better job welding the turbo flange to the crossover pipe......downpipe dumpd near the front tire......car ran lean, manis glowed red hot, but the only thing that blew was the tranny....learned a great deal on how not to do it and how to do better in the future.....BOV was some sort of dsm product for 15 bucks on ebay, no intercooler, due to gheto fab piping and it ran at 7 psi. Dash has computer diagnostic mode to moniter gm/sec on mass air flow to esc spark retard...ect Though not sure how accurate it was.

I am thinking of shopping around for a honda or nissan as a project car but time has been scarce.

The car had a jet engine shreik like no other, some of the street racers would ---- their pants on the sound as the down pipe was 20 inches past the turbo....

I will. I need to locate the other photos as well. I may add a turbo to my 95 riviera S/C and dissable the supercharger or do both after I get anther ride. The bypass valve on the Supercharger on wide open setting bypasses all boost, hence may time that to open when the turbo gets going.....Nonetheless, I would like to get the olds up and going again....
