Re: crower stage 1 cams

Those numbers are for lift...what's the degree of overlap? Overlap in some setups can be useful, such as on a log-style manifold that has little scavenging going on and can increase the scavenge effect. On most tubular manifolds overlap will end up robbing power.
Just a side note, I know you have to replace your springs and associated ---- in order to run those cams in your b16 (due to b16 spring coil bind). Might be other parts involved (such as valves if stems are longer on hype-r setups or gsr's) but I'll leave that to you to research.

i'm running a ramhorn manifold ..i just put itr valve springs and retainers in. let me see if i could find them numbers for the overlap

so how much over lap dose a stock cam have
what would be better for vtec on a stock z6 log or horn

Stock cams have a little bit of overlap, but not much. A ramhorn style manifold will scavenge much better than a log, but is it really going to be worth the price for a few extra hp on a stock motor? For the under 300hp just go with the tried and true log, much cheaper and who knows...maybe that little bit of overlap will help out after all.

slightly off topic: on the end of the cam with the part number.... is the "-2" there or no?

on topic...i will be putting bigger ones in my turbo B16A :-*

Re: crower stage 1 cams

my boy is running the crower turbo cams, stage 2. these are some mean cams. vtec engages like wtf! I used the same cams for a month. they was some really great cams throughout the whole power band. especially 6500rpm - 9600rpm.

the stage ones are better that the ITR ones so you got a great deal for free. use them with no hestitaton.

well im about to make a new manifold for a bigger turbo and its going to stay on when i build the engine so i might as well go ram horn
plus its $50 more in bends and fabing time so i think its worth it

Re: crower stage 1 cams

i email crower to ask them what the overlap was on the cams. they said the overlap is 22.5 degrees of overlap on the VTEC lobe

The bigger the boost the more I like aggressive NA cams.
