Re:crankcase pressure
try a search on www.honda-tech.com theres about a billion posts on breather smoke.
btw i hope you didnt have the stock pcv system in place. when you boost the valve closes and your crankcase pressure has no where to go but back up. that would suck as at the least all you needed to do was unplug it. welp live and learn.. |
Re:crankcase pressure
so on my boosted d15b7 i should un plug the pcv valve so it vents to the atmosphere rather then back in to the intake manifold. I have the breather hose from the valve cover hooked up to the intake side of the turbo.

Re:crankcase pressure
coppercivic, you're doing what you're suppose to.. I just vent mine.

Re:crankcase pressure
first youd need to plug the intake manifold, then ya you can just run it open or have some kind of check valve system or just run it to the intake of the turbo like the other.
im gonna try and do a check system with multiple pcv valves so i get the suction at vacuum as well as ventilation during boost. |
Re:crankcase pressure
Would it blow oil into te turbo inlet and ruin it? Or it was left open, it would spray oil everywhere?
|
Re:crankcase pressure
the inside of the valve cover's design won't allow oil to "splatter" it's way out...
