Took it off my car, the crack ------ 360* so I could not drive it anywhere. Will take my dad to work on Friday so Chris (xenocron) can weld this thing up for me. Took some more pics since I got it off the car. I can see 270* of daylight throught the middle two runners, and the left el is cracking. Hopefully Chris can do this for like 20-30$.

Mikes hasnt even been welding as long as josh has. Nor do his welds look as good. Do you think their going to be as structuraly sound? Remember, while these guys may be members and everything, they baiscly just bought welders so they can slang manifolds on the interweb.

Neither weld with penetration in mind. Both are clearly just worried about making the welds look half way decent and have decent color. This results in a single pass at relatively low amperage which just basically fuses the manifold together. In order to make a stainless manifold of this thickness last you either need to run 2 passes or run one pass with a thicker filler rod and more heat. The first method is obviously the best as this is the method all pipe fiters do. The "problem" with this method is the fact it will take 2x as long to make the manifold which will result in prices increases. The second option will work better but will result in ugly looking welds while the prices will be able to remain about the same amount. In the end its a lose lose situation as if you do it right, people will bitch that the prices went up. If you do it the second way it will be a better product but people will bitch the welds are ugly. The real answer is just to import cast log manifolds from china and weld the downpipes yourself.
