cr on d16y7-need2lower?
what's the cr on 2000 d16y7? will i need to lower it when i install my turbo, or is it already at a boost friendly level? looking at less than 10 psi...probably somewhere near 8 psi.

Re:cr on d16y7-need2lower?
Its already at a pretty decent level, I belive its in the mid 9's or so. I wouldnt take any drastic measures to lower it. lots of guys run turbos on stock gsr's/b16a's with over 10.1 c/r.
You will need to get a good fuel managment setup.. read through the forum for some ideas. Jeff |
Re:cr on d16y7-need2lower?
here's my set up pre install:
td04 from 02 wrx mitsu bov (probably get something else) starion fmic or daytona fmic (leaning toward daytona-better fitment/routing) dsm 450cc safc civic precat manifold going to use 2.25 charge pipes when should boost start and hit full boost? should i also add higher flow/pressure intank fuel pump? should i even bother getting an af gauge-a lot of folks say they aren't worth having. i'm probably a month or so off before i'm boosting. |

I doubt any of us here will be able to tell you EXACTLY when you will hit boost, it varys.. exhaust size, and other engine mods, and especially wastegate settings. The turbo is pretty small, and I wouldnt worry about it NOT spooling up, it should spool relatively fast. should i also add higher flow/pressure intank fuel pump? Not unless you plan on boosting over 10psi should i even bother getting an af gauge-a lot of folks say they aren't worth having. I would definatly get one, especially if you dont plan on dyno tunning your car. i'm probably a month or so off before i'm boosting.[/i] |
