Please, save yourself time and money and DON'T use home depot rubber hose clamps pre-intercooler. The pipes get hot enough to deform the rubber and they will start splitting near the clamps. I learned this the hard way. Also make sure you have something on the end of the pipe like a weld bead or something so the pipes don't slip off.

Installation tip: the clamps are easier to slide on the pipes after you heat them up with a heat gun or hair dryer.

Anyway, here's what you're looking for:
- Go to www.mcmaster.com
- Search for: Coolant Inline Rubber Hose
- Click on the only search result and you'll see it.
- Nitrile/SBR Coolant Hose is the first one down and that's what most people use instead of the expensive Silicone stuff.

You can also get there by:

- Go to www.mcmaster.com
- Click on Fire Hose and Adapters
- Click on Coolant Inline Rubber Hose
- Scroll down and you'll find the Silicone stuff, but it's way too expensive for HMT'ers.

This is what home depot sells:

The flexible PVC body on these clamps enables you to connect pipes made from different materials such as cast iron, plastic, copper, or steel pipe to form a tight seal. Clamps are made of PVC with Type 301 stainless steel bands. Maximum pressure is 4.3 psi; maximum temperature is 120° F. Meet SBCC, BOCA, and UPC codes. CSA certified.

4.3 psi...120°F...do you really trust this stuff?

good thread.

• Tube: Nitrile/SBR rubber blend
• Cover: Black nitrile/SBR rubber blend with green stripe
• Reinforcement: 3-ply nylon screen
• Temperature Range: 0° to 212° F

so 212F is enough for the compressor?

i just welded all my pipeing together in the biggest sections poss so i could get away with as few couplers as poss. then i went to napa and had them look up radiator hose id's. they found a perfect 2.25" id one for me... was a tight 90 degree elbow with like a 12 inch leg and a 6 inch leg or there about. worked perfect for me. ended up making 3 couplers and an elbow for like 13 bucks.. cant beat that. esp when you know it can handle the pressure and temp as well as any chemicals that might get on it.

oh yeah the nitrile stuff is reinforced so don't even think about trying to stretch it over a bigger pipe; it won't happen.
