Cooling fan in the way is it ok??haha
haha i rhymed, nah but seriously though, i hade to remove one of my fans to get the turbo and manifold to fit, will my engine temp be ok? and also if it is i shouldnt have to connect those wires somewhere else for the other one to work correct? or no

Re:Cooling fan in the way is it ok??haha
What kind of car do you have and which fan did you remove, if you removed the driver side fan that is typically the A/C fan and only runs when you run your A/C.

Re:Cooling fan in the way is it ok??haha
its a 91 integra and yes it was the driverside fan, and i took my a/c out, but i think the a/c one is on the passanger side but im not positive

Re:Cooling fan in the way is it ok??haha
well if you remove the cooling fan you won't be ok. unless you never stop for more than 2mins

Re:Cooling fan in the way is it ok??haha
i have a 91 rex with a del sol half rad, i have gone without a fan for about 2 months. it was driven around town in traffic and on the highway for about 500 miles.
my temp gauge on the dash never got over 3/4 . i was in tennessee and missouri where it was pretty damn hot too. i wouldnt reccomend not having one but you dont need one unless you sit in traffic for a long time. you can get a thinner one at autozone. but dont put that fan too close to the exhaust. |
Re:Cooling fan in the way is it ok??haha
i sat in traffic for 2min with a fuse for the cooling fan, in 100 degree wether it took about 2mins to pin the temp gauge

Re:Cooling fan in the way is it ok??haha
Agreed, dont ---- around... I am using a del sol 5g radiator in my crx with the crvtec. and it would get hot pretty quick. I wired the fan to always come on with igntion. better to be cool than hot! ;)

Re:Cooling fan in the way is it ok??haha
man, a friend of mine just got a Griffin (sp?) radiator and at idle with the cooling fan on it would drop to 140*f or lower, im deffinately thinking about getting one now since i seen it actually do its job in a very very fast way....

Re:Cooling fan in the way is it ok??haha
well i think i just solved my own problem, i took the one out that was in my way, and wired the other one to a switch to the dash, so i can turn it on whenever, wich will probably be all the time. does that sound like a good plan?

Re:Cooling fan in the way is it ok??haha
my fan has gone through some hard times. It's always on, and I melted it once... man, it's still going too.
|
Re:Cooling fan in the way is it ok??haha

|
Re:Cooling fan in the way is it ok??haha

im guessing it was real close to it?
|
Re:Cooling fan in the way is it ok??haha
Yeah, it was pretty close, but the main factor was my lack of a radiator support and homemade replacement. ::)
