Default compression test out of car?

wondering if i can do this, so incase something is tweaked i will save alot of install removal time....just a thought

just hook up the starter to a 12v fully charged battery.

you can do a leakdown check, it usts compressed air. it measures the percentage of air leaking past the rings or somewhere else, the tool is not very expensive and any good shop should have it. any thing higher than 20% leakdown means trouble
