cheap ebay bov vs. dsm 1st gen?

I'm thinking about ditching my 1st gen dsm bov for this ebay one. The guy is Canadian so there won't be any duty which is a bonus. I'm just wondering what you guys think. My friend has one and it looks half decent, and will probably sound good.
What's the deal with the "adjustability"? If you set it to soft does it open slower or something? Sounds like it might hurt something if it doesn't let the air out fast enough?

i wouldnt pay 70 bucks for a no-name bov. the adjustability sets the spring tension, letting the bov release with varrying amounts of vacuum, at least thats the way i always saw it. setting it too loose could also bleed boost possibly, too tight might keep it from blowing off at all
stan stan stan u wanna know how to get around duty fees? get the shipper to check off the box marked "Gift". if you didnt buy it cuz its a gift they don't charge you duty
Done it many of times.
