And that was my ------- point..that the larger the core the worse the pressure drop. and I was referring to the 8.5" tall, 3+" core in the ebay auction as opposed to a much smaller 5" tall 2.5" thick JRC core. ::) Maybe for bigger boost aps that's a good size but for a 1.6L civic with 6-7 lbs of boost that's an overkill IMO. |

those dimentions you lister are extrernal dimension...
the core is 25x7.75x2.75 do i feel its a little big??? yeah, but who cares, a little lag, blah... and im gonna be running a 1.5Liter at 8psi..... think of it this way, when i get a 1.6 and pump it up to 10psi, or put another b16 in, i wont have to upgrade :) |

You better do a little more research. Pressure drop is increased by a longer core. the height does not create a noticeable pressure drop. You sound like someone who is talking from what they read on the internet and not from experience. Someone who has experience with going different sized intercoolers will tell you that pressure drop is not an issue. Have you ever felt the pressure drop from an intercooler?? By your arguements I'm guessing no. On my old setup I went from non intercooled to a core size of 24 x 12.5 x 3 at 8psi and the fraction of a second of lag doesn't even compare to the massive HP it created |
