Cast Iron welding

Using nickel rods and welding very slowly this can be done.. ex; Weld about 1/4" then let it cool completly before moving on, Also a good ball peen hammer can be tapped onto the bead lightly to quickly reduce the heat in the area.. Once completed without incident you are all set.. Repeated heating and cooling wont hurt it..
Ive seen cast iron manifolds done this way as well I have see guys cut their wastegate housing at an angle and wels on 3" downpipe.. "these are also cast"
So they weld soft steel to cast with a mig and it holds!!!
Or so Ive heard.
