the ecu has to be setup to run a different map sensor. since its a kia, i really have no idea what to tell you. i dont know what the kia guys are doing for engine management. you cant just run a turbo on a non turbo car without doing some tuning though. no amount of bolting parts on will make it run right

well, i guess my tuner which I paid for is CRAP!! He's been giving me loads of bullSH!T excuses.. but hey, can't argue much since I don't really know anything about tunning..

Installed the new map sensor again, called the tuner over.. he tried to tune but in the end he said cannot tune.. been giving me lots of excuses..

In the end, kind of regret turboing my car... no joy at all..

you can always try to do a missing link and fmu thing although i dont think they make a missing link for kias. there are a few turbo kias on kia forums why dont you go there and ask for some help getting everything to work right. just browse and see what they are doing to their cars for engine management

you cant just "tune" a car. normally, something needs to be modified or changed for programming. sounds like that guy is just taking your money.

just get this and an FMU for now. at least then you can drive your car

thanks guys!!!

I agree that he's taking me for a ride but I have already paid the **** so I guess I have to put up with him..

Anyway, I thought I have fixed the smoking problem but it seems I was wrong. White smoke appears after the car warms up.. I have done a careful check on all pipings again (after cleaning up the pipes previously) and no sign of any oil. Even my BOV is dry as a ****.. So could this be the turbo seals or should I wait for my car to be completely tune before conluding anything.

Thanks guys!

dont justr blame the turbo maybe something is internally wrong with the engine especially if you have been driving with out a tune

A bad tune+stock head bolts, could = head lifting.

How is your coolant level. White smoke is usually water, not oil.

coolant level is perfectly fine. turbo im currently using is an oil cool turbo, no coolant running to it so i doubt it would be coolant problem.

anyway, changing out the turbo next week.. hopefully i can cure the white smoke. Also, planning to get a new tuner.. lets just say the previous money paid to the fucked up tuner is a lesson learnt.

i wasnt saying that the turbo was leaking coolant. i was saying a shitty tune with stock head bolts could have allowed the head to lift and now coolant is being burnt by the cylinders.

odds are that didnt happen, but it is possible. have you tried to really push the car hard since installing the turbo?

oh, i see i see.. sorry for the misunderstanding.

Well, No i didn't push the car since I installed the turbo kit. Only time I did was when the tuner was "trying" to tune the car.

As for the coolant, after driving with the smoking rear.. I will always check my coolant level and i'm not losing any coolant. Also, no sign of milky oil..
