one other thing (assuming its a 5 speed) if you havent swapped the TPS to a 4 wire one then the throttle will either be 0 or 100% since its not a potentiometer type.

I dunno anything about what Escort GTs run, that wasn't me, but stock LS in the hands of good drivers run flat 15's.
