Man, you got me really confused. Why are you messing with cam timing? Why don't you set the timing at the crank pulley using a timing light and the corresponding marks on the cover?

Because he hears "timing" and automatically assumes they are the same thing. :1

oh boy...set the cam gear at 0 for now. Get a timing light and set the timing (using the dizzy) at 16 degrees. Why did he want it at 12?
