built turbo d16z6
i have recently built a d16z6. i am having problems adjusting the timing. it has vitara 8.5:1 pistons, tuner toy rods, balanced crankshaft, full supertech head package, port and polished head, zex stage 2 camshaft, cheap ebay intercooler and piping, tial style wastegate, ebay ssqv bov, s2 intake manifold, equal lenght turbo exhaust manifold, power 68mm throttle body. i have recently installed hondata s100 w/boost option and bubba at do it dyno did a base map somewhat setup for the mods, he told me after i got the computer back that i needed to retard my timing to like 12 deg. well i figured i would set it to 8 and see how it runs well when i fired it up it didnt want to run very well any suggestions?

so he told you to set ur timing at 12degrees but you set it at 8. 
why not set it at the stock d16z6 timing of 16 degrees to get it started and work down from there.
is the base map set up for your injectors.

yeah the guy who did the computer told me to set the timing at 12 degrees but that just seemed a little extreme so i decided to set it at eight to see how the car ran but when i fired it up it idled real low and wanted to die.

You set your timing mechanically and you set it to the same value at idle. What are you missing?
If your timing is set mechanically at 16 degrees then set it for 16 and go from there.

That will only work on the fourth day of a year with a blue moon in the third month, should you stand properly aligned with venus and pluto. Then your car will run perfectly, untill then you're fucked.
