built d or ls? for boost that is
now i have some extra cash to finally finish building my z6 but this complete b18a1 (cable tranny) swap came up. i dont know what to do as in when both setups are done id probably be around the same whp (240-260)
either a the built z6 and my .42 .48 at 18psi, tt rods, vitaras, acl bearings, arp studs, metal hg, xtd stg 3
or swap in an N/A ls (hasport cable to hydro, other mounts, axles, clutch) and slowly piece together the stuff to boost it (mani, turbo, dp, external wg)
and yes, i already have a rope. ill use it when i figure out what im doing.

Your turbo is too small for either.
Assuming you had at least some sort of T3/T4, I'd take the built D. You won't have to buy a retardedly expensive tranny (although they do feel nice) so you can use what you have and save money on that and the hydro conversion kit, mounts, axles, etc.
Built D ftw, it's really an option of if you want to waste money or not at this point. It will be cheaper and you can make more torque, with less risk of blowing up.

i have a t bird turbo possibly on the way, the thing is i dont know if its the .60 .63 or the .48 .60... also ive looked at 57 trim t3/t4s and i would be upgrading towards the end of winter either way.
oh and i know about the t3 being way to small for the ls, just another bulk of $ i dont even have to throw out.
thanks for the feedback, anyone else?

The 63/60 T3 would be ok on an LS, still too small for a built D.
Aim higher son.

You can do 300HP with a stock LS, but it will cost more after all the bullshit you need.

My build for last year:
LS short block $100
LS head $free
Delta cams $95
Cable YS1 tranny $130
Holset hy35 $200
You just have to stay away from the homo HT prices and b-series isnt that expensive.

yeah well the ls swap available to me is 500 for motor/tranny/ecu (b18a1) i dont need the ecu, and im going to have to buy a cable to hydro since my car is an eg. then i need DC mounts, dc linkage, new mani, etc. unless i find someone to trade hydro for the cable tranny.
but on the other side for the d series im going to need to upgrade the map sensor, and get bigger injectors because im not going to rock a built d and not take it to its potential.

You'd need a new map sensor and bigger injectors either way, can't take those as an added cost of choosing the D.
