Broken wastegate/boost controler

I had to change boost controlers twice after the original one I had on the car quit working after my turbo was fixed. Two bolts that hold the
internal wastegate actuator onto the compressor housing came loose and the whole turbo setup turbo/manifold had to come out in order for those two bolts to be tightened and after that was done the boost controler quit working but the internal wastegate stil works regulating only 7-8 psi of boost into the engine. I ordered a second boost controler and this one seems to not be working also. I sent the new boost controler back to get a new one and the new one doesn't work either. what could be wrong with my set up that boost controllers don't work but the internal wastegate works? this shits draged on for about a month with me having boost issues and it sucks. Please someone help me out and let me know what it could be?

What kind of boost controllers? Ones with a diaphram? Ball and spring?..

The Turbo XS standard one is a bleeder type mbc. I would go with a ball and spring type mbc.

so what happens when the mbc is not working? you are still only getting 7-8psi and it will not increase?

one time I thought my manual boost controller didn't work, turns out I just had a bad boost leak.

the boost controler makes the boost go upto 15+psi which is unsafe since I have stock internals in a b16 99 si. even if I turn the knob all the way down, it still boost high.

Your problem has nothing to do with the boost controller.

Re: Broken wastegate/boost controler

what do you think it is csaddict? the car boosts upto 8psi when connected to the wastegate without the boost controler which is what the factory wastegate on my turbo is set at, it's a .60 trim t3 off an 86 300zx. there's no boost leaks or long waiting on boost to build up. I'm breaking my head trying to figure out wtf could be the problem.

A boost controller is a very simple device. You first need to understand which type you have a how it works. I think you hooked it up wrong or you aren't adjusting it properly. Where is the source for your wastegate signal?

It's comming from the intake manifold from the pcv valve source.
