Yea Ive seen those. My pal has one on an RSX and it helps a bit.

I bolted a chain to my block and wrapped it around my cross member, with a long bolt and nut for tension. Gonna see how that works up after I weld the mount bracket.

Old schoolers did the chain trick a lot.

One of my coworkers has an 8 second chevelle, he threw the idea out to me a while back.

The only problem I can see on these picture is fatigue on weld cause by shear stress. This mount would be stronger with bolts since the torque change directions often when driving. If your weld crack a bit, it will crack all along. I can be wrong, but with the pictures I see that's what I'm thinking. I hope for you and your car that I am wrong lol ;D

I hope your wrong too !

As I pulled the car into the shop today I didnt realize how bad it really was.

I unbolted the mount and the bracket came with it. It totally seperated from the frame.
It was a fun experience reshaping it and welded it back.
I drilled out the factory spot welded and realigned them all with small bolts, then welded around the bracket. And finally removed the bolts and rewelded the spot welds.

I THINK it will do just fine.

Say what?

I don't think you understand the difference between shear stress and fatigue failure.
