BOV necessary? No.

Recommended? Yes.

My pops has an 82 Mercedes turbo desiel, no BOV, no intercooler either, hell there practically isn't any charge piping!

I took pictures before but I don't remember where they are. But the outlet of the turbo basically hooks right up to the intake manifold. Crazy.

If you are spending money to go as far as turbo-charging a car, you might as well do it right. But hey..... it's your turbo.

TurboCoupes didn't have BOVs either and they ran 15+ lbs of boost!

Why would you need a bov on a diesel? It wouldn't even work

no blow off valve is needed if you have a water/air IC inline with the turbo charge pipes going to the TB and the pipes are VERY short.

anything over a couple of feet of tubing would probably need a BOV especially if your not running a IC

10$? are you talking junkyard bovs? DSM? supposedly my 86 saab that i pulled the turbo/intercooler has one but I honestly cant find it, should be right before the intake mani right? i dont see anything, anyone else pull one out of a saab?

less lag between shifts plus saves your turbo all for under 50 bucks i say your stupid not to get 1
