Default BOV bad to put before IC?

I don't think I've ever seen it placed before the Intercooler. Is there any reason to this? Would it be advised not to?

I ask because I have a pipe that fits the BOV I have and it's 2" in diameter. I want to keep the piping larger as possible so from turbo to IC i'll keep it 2 in and then after IC, I want to have it flared to 3" to throttle body.

Only problem with that setup is I can't use my BOV pipe after Intercooler if I have it at 3".

don't use 3" charge pipes unless your going for 800+ hp.

oh ok. so stick with the 2"? It's be a lot easier/cheaper anyway so I'd rather do that as long as I know I'm not constraining anything.

I've always wanted to run my bov down in the bumper after the intercooler. The only reason why it may not be recommended over the 14" from the throttle body is because when all of the pressure is released, the pressure between the throttle body and bov would have to travel opposite of the normal flow direction. Possible "sending pressure wrong direction back to bov and then boosting seconds after pushing air the other way" Don't know if this would be considered harmful, but that's the only reason why I've thought it isn't done more often.

stealth when pressure is released by the BOV pressure drops instantly, not much air actually flows outta the bov.

u could put the BOV on your turbo housing if you wanted i see no problem. it could be mmounted on your IM also.

dont matter where it is, just the conveniance of having it on the charge pipes is why.

Oh, I never got a straight answer. If there wasn't a definate correct place to put it, I don't see why everyone says " 14" from the throttle body". If it doesn't matter where it's located, why would they come up with such an exact number like "14". Doesn't make sense to me. I'm gonna put it in the bumper anyway.
