Bought This Collector. Wanna Make My Own Mani. Someone PREACH!!
I just bought this collector from anotehr canadian, there his pics. I just started thinking about making my own mani so I though why not jump in this sucker for a whopping $40
I also bought a exhaust flang from weirracing who is also local
Anywho, when I get this collector, by looking at it (mind you I know nothing about making my own mani),
In the one pic it looks like its flat and the other it doesnt, so am I just buying a t3 flange and welding it or is it not flat and something else has to be done....
Im gonna price out some 90* bends tomorrow
I know Im missing something, but I might as well learn eh
Thanks for any info

holy ---- nice collector for 40 bucks, i want one.
and the non-flat bottom, I would probably just try to grind it straight, or as straight as possible. And the parts not straight, just fill it in with weld. Shouldn't be a big gap anyways between the collector and the flange, If you grind it down okay, maybe a 2-4 millimeter gap at some places inbetween.

The only bad thing I can see is that there is going to be some massive overlap if your putting that thing on a T3 flamge. I could be wrong cause there's nothing to judge the size against. But if it is I would reccomend making the hole smaller. If this is the case I can explain how...
Making manifolds are easy, just keep the runners the same length, plan your work and make the whole manifold out of the same material. If that collector is stainless, than get stainless pipe and flanges.
If you have the time and patience your can make a really nice looking manifold for a small price. The collector is the hardest part so you should be on easy street.
Good luck...
