ok.. what do you want here? a good car to turbo or build NA?? You said turbo first. Now you are asking about cams..

d16a6 = 105 (8 108(89-91) HP
d16z6 = 125ish hp
zc = 130hp

they are all good to boost, more or less the same bottom end. a6 is the cheapest. a z6 is probably easy to find cuz ppl are swapping them out for b16 and b18c's. ZC is a JDM, harder to find aftermarket parts for.

like some1 said, z6 is good. VTEC fun!

BoostedED9 had a Z6 with the stock bottom end and I believe he was up to 302hp at the wheels until he blew his motor trying to boost 15 psi or something around that. I would have to say get a Z6 since they are newer, fairly cheap, and easy to get parts for.

I'd say Z6, just because:

1.) Vtec kicks ***
2.) Turbo cams (hehehe)
3.) Cheap
4.) I'm building one, so I'm biased.

thanx for the info guys, i just couldnt decide....think i'll go with the z6, defiantly easier to find. how well does the z6 do under 4500 rpm's tho? i was thinking the zc would have better power across the board then the z6. would the z6 just have ok power until 4500 or so when the vtec and boost really kick in...what about transmissions? would a zc transmission be better then the Si? i know they are about the same until overdrive...i ahve an si tranny now but it has 190k miles on it, no grinds, but will it last?

once turbo and with proper tuning they'll be very close in output, but like anything else it requires proper tuning and a good setup

Z6 block, A6 head = 8.4/1 compression... Perfect for a street driven/ daily driven turbo honda !!! You get power across the band ( not just above 5000 ), and tuning a non-vtec is easier.. But that's just my idea...

But tuning is the key. knock and you'll find out how a rod in the side of the block sounds.
