Thats nice. ;D

What kind of traction bars are those? Does the main bar mount to where the tow hooks used to be? Are they the double heim jointed kind, or do they mount up like the OE strut rods do? Thats a slick setup, me likes alot.

Re: Boosted dohc Zc crx 90% complete

thanx, yes the bars mount up to the stock location and they have a 2 point solid mount for the lca and a heim joint up front. they are etd bars but they told me they are powdercoated and they are not, we'll see if they hold up. they don't offer alot of extra room but better than stock x-member

actually not the best place for them, i only put my ratchet there. a friend of mine was working on his prelude and took out the plugs, changed the fuel filter etc and in the process dropped a copper banjo washer in to the spark plug hole into the cylinder(keyword copper) :1

Loving the zc. Car looks nice, the wastegate dump tube should be routed back into the exhaust. Its so much quiter and you can hear the turbo so much more, trust me.

i just wanted a temp bar til i get my hands on a set of full-race bars. so when they break i guess thats when its time to get new ones lol. i was looking for a bar that didn't attach to the tow hooks because the shitty L-con bars broke my tow hook mounting bolts inside my frame so i wanted a bar i could just slap right on til i get time to re-weld the nuts inside the frame(when i get the full-race)

275-300whp im going to max out my turbo(.48 turbine) should stop making power around there maybe even 320. im still debating whether to just start with low boost then turn it up later to see what it'll turn out.

looks good. you def. gonna have all those parts by the time you head up to evans? That would suck if you were still waiting on ----. Well whatever happens, good luck with it. 300whp would be delicious

sakpase 08-07-2006 10:43 PM

Re: Boosted dohc Zc crx 90% complete

Are your Hp #'s restricted to your turbo? If so, how much do you think your zc can handle? Is the motor built?

i always pull through at the last minute, im working out minor flaws everyday(re-routing) and other B.S. im buying ---- as we speak, next dayin everthing i can't sleep til i hear it run :X

yea power is pretty much restricted to the turbo. its fully built and balanced, ported head/rebuilt head, .20 over wiseco pistons, crower rods, block guard, posted block

sakpase 08-09-2006 12:21 PM

Re: Boosted dohc Zc crx 90% complete

I'm only bothering you because I have a ZC also.

Why did you put a block guard in if it's posted? Are you just being ultra conservative?

and do you have to "notch" the bottom of the cylinders with the crower rods?

Thanks for the info so far, Keep reppin' for the ZC's out there.

yes i notched the block. and i just added the block guard because its worth the extra added insurance. the posts go mid way up the sleeve and the guard goes on the top. besides not too many people have experimented with using both. just want to prove it can benefit if done properly.

Re: Boosted dohc Zc crx 90% complete

Pretty much alway have to notch a D. I did for my eagles.

What type of block guard? Didn't you o-ring the block? I was going to post my Devcon Block also, but never did. What HG are you running? HKS? OEM Comp? Did you see the www.thezcr.com post about Cooper and modded MLS HGs?

race engineering block gaurd(upper sleeve), posted (mid/lower), o-ringed, hks mls gasket(.7mm), wiseco .20 over 9:1 pistons. never saw a thread about modded mls hg's i would never think of altering a hg in anyway,im too paranoid

I bet ur cold side charge pipe makes the radiator mounting a huge pain in the ass. Why not run it threw the inner fender?
