Boost timer
I have a CRX with a jdm D15b in it and i am going turbo this summer with this kit i got on ebay.http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT. I was wondering about the turbo spool on the rhb5. from what i have been reading it is really early like around 2800 rpms or so. My question is will a boost timer allow me to retard the rpm that i boost at. I do alot of highway miles and i would like to stay out of boost until around 3500 rpms or so on the freeway and then set it back down low for around town like it would be without a timer. Thanks

i could be wrong but the only way to adjust your spool time on a turbo is to restrict/unrestrict the exhaust side of the turbo, quicker stuff gets out quicker it spools,think thats why some people change around there 2,2.5,3" pipping. I could be wrong but thats what this noob thinks.
have you seen a compressor map for that turbo or are you going by word of mouth?

This turbo is stupid small, from the map i would say this thing probably creates full boost around that 2.5k mark but is going to kill you on the high end,redline probably won't even feel like u have turbo. If you want a highway drivable turbo might want to look for a replacment, you gonna be driving on the highway eating gas in boost, and when you hit the gas boost will start to tapper off on the high range.
Also this guy in your auction doesn't say anything about fuel management for those 450cc injectors, he was using the safc but is not included, did u get a fuel managment solution?

i don't drive a whole lot of miles but they are mostly freeway. I am running uberdata for sure. I am just getting started with this kit. I will probably get a t3 down the road just to have a more highway friendly vehicle. My question on the boost timer was is there anything that will allow the wastegate to open early at like one psi until i want it to for freeway driving. Then i can adjust the timer to allow the wastegate to stay closed for racing and things of that sort. If the wastegate opens at like one psi on the freeway it won't spool and then a manual boost controller or something like that would allow it to close when i want it to. I am sorry for such a long post. I am just thinking of new ideas.
