Boost and N2O concerns
 

I have a 1999 civic ex with a greddy turbo kit and also a zex nitrous kit as well. after the turbo went on, I havent ran my nitrous at all, in fear of detonation in the cylinders. My fuel system is pretty modified (fuel pump, FPR, fuel rail, injectors) My question is, if i invest into getting new rods, pistons and a cam, will I be able to run the nitrous along with the turbo and possibly higher amounts of boost (currently at 7psi)

Whats the point? Unless you have serious turbo lag then there is no reason to use nitrous with your turbo, just up the boost.

IF you build your motor you can run both, just set a good A/F for the boost and invest in a wet nitrous kit and it'll be fine. The thing about using both at the same time is that the nitrous causes the boost to go crazy. We had a 115 shot on my buddy's SHO with the wastegate set at 15psi, as soon as you would spray it the boost would spike like crazy. Nitrous + Boost = ------- badass

and it also acts like water injections cuz the n2o is so cold. ;)

i had that setup in integra.. at first it's ok, the shot was so low that i only used it for take off. what made it worse was it would spin out like crazy... not worth it. but, it does look really cool if you use it as a fmic spray. intimidates others.

But thats such a waste of money. If I'm paying $45.00 for 10lbs of nitrous I wouldn't use it to cool my intercooler. At the least I would run a 20 shot into the motor. Thats like literally just pissing money away

When I use the nitrous i can feel it, but it does work better at speeds under 90mph, in top end its useless. Purging it cool too, lol, rev up and listen to the BOV and then purge...intimidation ;)

Since the EX turbo runs ----- CFMs, all you have to do is get the car tuned properly and have the right amount of fuel and you will be able to run both. Are you injecting the nitrous before compression or after?

I believe before, its a ZEX dry system (i had it before the turbo) so its injected through the intake.

I was running nitrous and boost back when i had my stock turbo. I was getting 3 psi of creep with a 50 shot and a power increase of 75 RWHP ( i know several people who have dynoed a 80rwhp increase from a 50 shot). nitrous and boost is amazing, along with the usual effects of nitrous you get an awesome intercooling effect.
