2 stillnoturbo: Its a D16Z5. European Dohc crx zc engine (im from the netherlands...), its a small turbo..oke, but it spools like crazy and its capable of more than enough boost......way too much if you ask me . its a daily driver you know.

ok not drunk anymore, about which gauge to read, I would go with the auto metre gauge but also look at which gauge reads 0 when the car is off, if one of them is not a 0 dont go with that one.

and like i kinda said earlyer, it sounds like your waste gate isnt opening all the way, I have a T25 on my dohc zc and the boost was very easy to controle so you having a diff wastegate sounds like your problem, hit up ebay and get a t25 wastegate

well ill see what i can find. are all the t25 wastegates the same ? and do you happen to know some cars that have a t25 turbo so i can hit some scrapyards ?

but for now....ill just open the wastegate by about 10mm. see what that does, maybe its still spoolin fast (i might like it)....and get myself another boost source ASAP.

oh btw...ill probably go with the autometer. its not reading 0 when off, but i do know that that one reads the most boost . if its under that...its oke.

im going to sleep now..its about 3.00 AM here....hoping to try some things tomorrow...and for god sake not to blow it up

you could get a wastegate from a tt 300zx but those run 12psi stock. i dont know if you have eclipses or talons there but i think those are a little less. if you can find an actuator from a late 80's 300zx that is probobly a good one also. then again i am drunk now so i may be off a little. i do know for sure that the 3000gt actuator wont let you past 5psi cause thats what i use. the turbo spools super fast and helps make some awesome torque

I've tested some things today..this is what i found out. As i tested the wastegate actuator earlier...i didn't test it the right way...dont ask... I tested it again today with a little pump and a manometer. The wastegate that i used opened at like 20 psi

I also had 2 other actuators, one from a TE04H (i think its a bit gone), it opened right away from 2-3 psi. I also tested one from (i was told) a TD05. This one opened at 10psi, going up to about 12psi. Now i don't know how accurate this pump+manometer was...so it could be a bit off.

Now im thinking of using the TD05 wastegate IF i'll be able to get the boost to like 6-7 maybe 8 psi. Is this possible ?? if so, how ?

also, is it possible to open an actuator and modify it to work at lower boost ?? i guess so but anybody any experience ?

so...I just opened the ******... Going to do some maths tomorrow to figure out how much ill have to cut the spring to get 4-5psi boost. Can always raise it with a restricter valve.

oke, problem solved. I opened the actuator and opened another weaker actuator. did some modifications to the weaker spring (to make it fit in the smaller housing), and voila, we have ourself a 5psi wastegate that fits
