Still sort of new to all this turbo stuff. Well I had my car dynoed the other day and holy ---- was that embarrasing! Well during tuning the guy said that he really couldnt do much due to the fact that I was having horrible boost creep right into Vtec. I had my boost set to 10psi and he said that it was creeping into like the 17range . Okay so he said that it was my manifold causeing the creep?

First off what the hell is boost creep? What causes it.


Here is my setup.

Motor:
its a b16 with srp 9:1 compression pistons eagle rods only 6k on the
rebuilt bottom end. the head is all skunk2 valve train. skunk2 titanium retainers
ss valves and dual valve springs. the cams are stock.
have skunk 2 cam gears and a toda timing belt, the head has about 2k on it.
i have a itr intake manifold and itr throttlebody, also have a drag gen 3 kit with a
t3 t4 turbo. the turbo has no shaft play. and 450 dsm injectors.

Turbonetics wastegate with 8psi spring.

Try a Tial. Bolts right in place of the turbonetics

would that cause the boost creep? The guy told me that it was the mani due to the fact that the wastegate position is right on the #4 cylinder runner. I know that that is a booty *** mani but I at least wanna run my car a little harder then just ----- footing it around

This is the same kit I have it is just that I upgraded, and changed a few things. But this is the mani and the wastegate!

Deltagate get a bad name from that piece of ---- manifold. Its the manifold. Its always the ------- manifold. I run a Delta gate with no creep. So do tons of other people I know.

So the wastegate is decent? SO then the guy that tuned my car wasnt just blowing smoke up my ***? I belived him just cause he knew way more than I did. ANd is a cool guy and knew his ----. I am just trying to figure all this out so I can get on the car and not worry about it. So boost creep is a real thing and is as shitty as it sounds. And it is like 90% sure that it is the manifold

For some reason i get boost creep on my hyundai accent really bad. If the boost controller is off my boost creeps from the set pressure of 5psi to 11psi in the upper rpms. I run 11psi anyway so I enjoy it, its like good gas mileage mode with the power if I need it ;-) If I use the electronic boost (apexi avcr) I get no boost creep.... Dont know much about it to help you out though, sorry.
