Default boost controller?

im confused, ive been reading up on here for a long time now and havent really read anything or seen any pictures of boost controllers. now instead of messing with my internal wastegate, could i use like a xs boostcontroller, or do i have to lower the boost on the wastegate?

A boost controller will not lower the boost. It will raise it anywhere from the factory setting of the actuator.

I have the el-cheapo TurboXs manual controller. I think I paid about $40 for it.

Unless you get the right acuator which I would suggest. By using the wrong acuator and bending the arm to fit, you are creating lag since the wastegate will be slightly open instead of closed. With the right acuator you could close the wastegate completely and turn the boost up to what you want.

www.turbonetics.com

Go to "catalog", "Turbo's and accessories", "T3" and go to the bottom of the page. Part number 30326. I have the same one and I think it is rated for 5-6.

The boost you run depends on a few things too. I used a mitsu tdo5 and the wastegate was 8 but I usually stayed around 9 or so. I used to hit 10 when I didnt have the air filter on. Seems like once I put the filter on I lost a pound but it was cool. Just get a new wastegate if you want to lower the boost unless you like lag.
