Boost controller

I was wondering if i can control the boost on a 14b with one of the boost controllers that go on a vaccum line?? Or is that only for external wastegate??

Re:Boost controller

you can run one on a internally wg turbo, jsut put it on its vacum line

So i can up the boost with just that?? I don't need to change the Wastegate actuator rod or use a spring??

Re:Boost controller

a bigger (stronger) spring does the same thing, your just changeing the amount of pressure it take to open the gate.

What about a turbo with a internal wastegate? i am new to the turbo thing. ;)

Re:Boost controller

the waste gate (internal) is basically a large spring with a thin peice of rubber over it (a seal). then the pressure on the seal gets high enough to colapse the spring, it opens the waste gate, lowering the pressure, which then lets the spring rebound, closing the waste gate.

Re:Boost controller

A boost controller on an internal wastegate would be put on the wastegate's vacuum line. This way, you can restrict the flow of pressure to the spring, thus increasing the amount of pressure needed to collapse the spring and open the wastegate. Simple, yet effective.
