Boost but no pull???

Im running a ebay turbo kit on my b16 in my rex....its all hooked up...wastegate aand mechanical boost controller is tee'd with brakebooster...
bov hooked to fpr line.......it spools and the bov goes off and all....it goes to 5psi....but the damn thing jus doesnt seem to pull...im running an open dp till i go to the muffler shop.....could that be the prob??

and when the car idles air isnt coming out of the wasegate......but with i rev the motor and let out the gas...air comes outta the wasegate....i dont have a dumptube...im jus running it open.....

Dont know wtf is going on

nothing right now...i jus got it hooked up and took it for a test run

But I have some 450's and a jackson racing fpr....also some cam gears, that i have yet to put on
other than that stock....till i get some tuning

Re: Boost but no pull???

one dont do that again. Your not going to make any power has you dont have the fuel to get the motor what it needs all your going to do is break the motor. Atleast hook up the fmu its a couple hoses and will take 10 minutes

Re: Boost but no pull???

well i disconnected the coolant temp sensor to trick it full rich for the mean time.....so is it ok that the wasegate is letting exhaust out when i let off the gas....??
I thought its only at WOT......

my vacuum lines are good...right?

Re: Boost but no pull???

Sounds like your WG is connected to the turbo housing, not to the intake manifold. I'm guessing that with no vacuum/pressure when you let off the throttle, the pressure in the exhaust manifold is enough to open it slightly.

As for not running management...I don't think thats an issue. Why? W/o a long intake tube for the turbo while running NO DUMP TUBE, you are sucking in lots of 'dead air' when you produce boost. That means 5psi out of the 19.7psi of absolute pressure that your engine is seeing has no oxygen. You make power with more oxygen in the cylinder, not more exhaust gases in the cylinder like you're getting now.

Cliffs: your WG isn't hooked up right, you need to get tuned, and you need a dumptube. :8

A vacuum source off the intake manifold. Preferrebly its own rather than a t and "sharring".

Re: Boost but no pull???

To the same place your MAP sensor and gauge are reading pressure - your intake manifold (after the throttle body).

When you blow your motor, I'll buy the ruined B16 head for $100 shipped. I mean it'll only be worth $20 to you as recycled aluminum anyways. :1

Re: Boost but no pull???

well I have the lower nipple on the wasegate vacuum going into the boostcontroller and from there to the brakebooster.....thats tee'd off so my boost gauge can hook there too....

the BOV is tee'd off the FPR line.....

sound good?
