boost and B20Vtec

what's up guy's. my name is cody and i drive a 90 CRX hf.
i just built my motor about 2 or 3 months ago, its a B20Vtec

bone stock bottom end
head has been milled
GSR cams (B17 1st gen GSR)
FULL MSD ignigion
boost timing master
boost retard switch
turbonetics t3
deltagate wastegate mark2
gretty type rs knock off blow off valve
stainless turbo manifold
non intercooled
intake manifold has been port matched to the intake gasket
and it has been bored out for a 70mm tb.
i have 2.25 inch
2.25 inch down pipe
sfc-Vtec contoller boxer series 450.00 retail (bad piece of equipment here)
STOCK LS computer

so i have a question here....
1) how much boost can i put down with a stock set up like this? ...... WITH OUT HURTING MY MOTOR ALOT.....

and just 1 statement.....
2) all the guy's with a similer set up to mine please all info would be greatful!!

yep....

1) get an intercooler on that bitch
2) get a chipped ecu and run like 8-10psi :6

Re: boost and B20Vtec

925,743,018 psi

Re: boost and B20Vtec

you need to do some searching there buddy

BoostedBSeries 10-07-2008 02:25 PM

Re: boost and B20Vtec

350cc injectors are to small. 450s are the SMALLEST upgraded injector you should use.

the sleeves are only to thin if your tuner sucks balls. detonation kills motors, not psi.

Re: boost and B20Vtec

i was only planning on running 5 to 8 pounds of boost..... im not a wanting MASSIVE setup...

i have a buddy im going to have tune my car for me. he is a ASE MASTER tech he tuned his home made turbo setup with a t25 at 12 pounds of boost and the thing was a monster for a semi built d16z6

Fix all the fail in your build, then think about boost; until then DON'T boost anything.

Re: boost and B20Vtec

What crxvtec91 said is pretty much true.

Stock ignition is fine and you don't need a "boost timing master" or "boost retard switch"... your head is in the right place that you need to retard the timing under boost. However, once you chip your ecu you can control ALL of that in the tune using crome (or whatever program you choose). Research some more... if you're going through all the trouble of port work, for God sake get an intercooler.

Re: boost and B20Vtec

read the faq.
your question is so irrelevant that it has fail all over it.

how much BOOST a STOCK B20VTEC can handle

Re: boost and B20Vtec

you can probably push 13-15psi with no tune anything after that you will have to tune though

Just because it's homemade doesn't mean you can't do a good job of it, and research.

""FULL MSD IGNITION"

useless, you didn't need it or hacked in boost retards... Crome doesn't get any cheaper then free, all the MSD ---- is just a bandage.

Re: boost and B20Vtec

your tryin to get info and i tryed helpin you out by tellin you my setup on my stock b20 motor and its not really how much boost your motor can take its the horse power it can handle with me i never thought 9psi would hit 342hp.. that's really pushing a b20 to its limits just stay under 300hp and don't drive it hard all the time tryin to impress all the girls you pull up next to or mabey guys whatever floats your boat :l

Good, you got an intercooler... now go re-read my post about using a chipped ECU.
