Re: BMW 2002 Homemade Turbo Build Thread
lol popping back in here with a couple of updates (NO VIDEOS YET SORRY!)
got the 3000rpm problem fixed by rewiring the VR sensor and installing a couple of shields and regrounding the cable to get the motor to rev all the way to 7, still a couple more things need to be done before it's safe to drive fully - we did a 5psi tune before my wideband broke so i left it at 5psi and at 5psi a roll race vs a 87 325i (170hp) he had the jump by 2 cars and then i reeled him in at the top of 2nd and kept pulling, so the potential is there
ran into a major problem though my turbo flange metal was way too thin and cracked so it's losing exhaust gases and not building boost anymore, i need to make another flange and toss in a new wideband sensor and go from there i'll get vids soon of it when it's all said and done but to those wondering yes it works, yes it drives, and it's ------- FUN AS ----!!!!
i absolutely love it, boost starts building at about 3 and hits 5psi by about 3500, had a spike a couple of weeks ago up to 12psi due to a wire failing on my boost controller and that lost traction in 3rd in the dry from a roll, that was also at 4300rpm. 15psi goals and further 20psi goals soon to come, at max boost i'm expecting it to come on right above 5 and stay there all the way up until 7, losing it only between shifts.
we'll see how the rear end holds up though. stay tuned for more updates, just chiming in -haven't forgotten about my HMT brosefs here yo ;P

-End of frustration-
I'm looking for 325i myself. Between 1992 and 1996, depending of the price. I would like to boost one of those!
Make a video now! :P
