The other day i was standing next to another turbo'd honda at a trafficlight... he wanted to race me so he revved up a bit... and let go of the gas....
I heard his blow off valve making the 'whoosh' sound... and i was like... wtf... my bov only makes sound under load...

How the ---- did he do this?

I wanna be a pimpin-trafficlight-ricer too!

tiny turbo's make noise while revving. my old toy greddy 15g would make its type-s go off whilst revving. my ssqv on my huge turbo won't ever go off well it does but barely; not like that type-s

 

so actually what you're saying is..

He has a small turbo, wich doesn't need much exhaust power, to spool up, and give boost... wich makes your bitchass bov work?

 

Yes, mine won't blow off at a stand still revving.

yea small turbo will blow off in neutral. my t3/t4 didnt on my d16a6 but does on my gsr.

 

Mine makes a TINY bit of noise. but I can build 1.8psi with lauch control set at 4000rpm with my 14b on my ZC.

 

he could have a swapped a larger motor as well.

 

so my stock d16y8 in nuetral with a chrysler turbo probly wont make any boost in nuetral until i start driving then my bov will go off .. the chrysler t3 is pretty big i can hear it spool real loud at idle... but no boost in nuetral...i havent drove it around yet cuz of a oil leak and my car is not idling

i want to be a ricer too,mine blows off but sounds really gay,its a turbo xs type s,only sounds good under load
