Are block guards neccesarry? I know what they look like, but how does that contraption make a "closed deck" explain the concept please.

 

They are crap, unless you install them correctly... which means, getting them welded in, then your deck resurfaced, then rebore the cylinders.

People just pound them in with a hammer and call it good, which easily distorts the cylinder, and doesnt help a damn thing.

about "posting", will any machine shop do it? i looked on the endyne website where jeff said he had his done, but i didnt see anything about it. where can i get it done?

 

pretty much only endyn as far as I know off, their is a special way to do it. Their is a certain formation, plus they use the EXACT same alloy as the block, so it heats and contracts the same amount. Plus they only torque the studs to something like 1 inch pound. Contact endyn and ask them about it, tell him the guy from homemadeturbo.com sent ya.

Correct, Endyn has supposivly located the thrust axis point on the block and has placed pins to support the side load. Their are 8 pins on the intake side, and 4 on the exhaust.
