yeah its works, not ideal for a daily driver. When you pour in the filler just put in straws or drill holes in it afterwards so some coolant can go though.

I think BLACKSI used block filler in his B16

would it be to much to use the block filler and then use a block gaurd also to brace the top of the block

There would really be no point in using both. I mean if your filling your water jackets than you might as well just fill them 3/4 of the way up and they'll be plenty reinforced. the blockguard might just distort the walls.

Sleeves usually crack in the middle anyways so what I would do is just fill the jackets and say to hell with the blockguard

They're just to make water passages when you pour the ---- in. They wouldn't actually do anything.

I read somewhere once, you put salt in the bottom of the block, filled about 1/4 of the way
then you put straws in, fill the block with the filler, let it harden, then pour the salt back out (through the straws. then deck the block.

and "straws" arent the plastic McDonalds straws :P

i dont know what straws you would use but anything plastic would most likely end up melting...i would just drill through it. Ive thought about filling a block with the salt method, but i think i like posting better.
