Best Turbo All Around for D Series?
yes just as topic heading says. Leave your Opinon on what turbo you think is the best allaround turbo for D series and why? and if you have had few diffrent turbos explain what you liked and disliked about each of them. As for as my opinon goes I cant leave one because Im not boosted yet! but Im trying too figure out if I want a IHI RHB5 ot a T3 .42.48. Geeez I HATE BIG decisions. And what turbo is making the best power all around? thanks in advance

RHB5- sucks *** in my opinion. Too small and the power drops off around 6500 rpms. Bad turbo
T3 .42 .48- Good turbo for a d16. Spools quick and is able to hold boost.
T3 .60 .63- Pacs a greater punch. spools around 4,000 in first and 3,000 in every other gear. Greater cfm= more power.

I don't think the is a BEST turbo for D series, it really matters what you are using the car for. But the T-25 and the t-3 with a medium small to size trim seems to be the best compromise for the street.

I have been wanting to turbocharge my 95 civic (d16z6) for over a year. I thought I wanted a small turbo so it would spool as fast as possible, but then I thought about traction problems and it dieing at higher rpms. Also with a smaller turbo you won't make as much power or push as much air as you would with a bigger turbo. My car is slow as poop at lower rpms anyways so I figure more traction and top end would be good. I have thought about using an IHI, T25, 14b, and then I thought I was going to go with a T3 .42/.48, but I have finally decided on a T3 60 trim .60/.48

Re: Best Turbo All Around for D Series?
yeah, i'd go with the t3 42/48. it pulls all the way to redline and holds boost no prob! mine spools between 3500-3900. i have a 51 trim wheel on mine so i dont know if thats any bigger than a normal wheel trim. i think its a bit bigger thats why it spools a bit later but once it hits it feels great! i think the 14b would be close in comparison but i wouldnt know cuz i've never used anything else. ihi rhb5 sucks!! way too f*cking small in my o2!!! i wouldnt use anything smaller than a t25! if you want lots of good power and dont really care too much about spool/lag time then get the 60/48 T3!! that will rock!

I'm not sure but I also heard of the T3 .42/.48 or the t3 60 trim .60/.48
I'm either going with those two. My goal is pretty much to get a z6 stock in a 5th gen. hatch into low 13's, but dont know if possible without internal work or whatever is possible for not too much money.
