best sounding blow off?
i don't like my rfl any more :(. i'm bout to get another. i'm lookin at a tial, the hks ssq, or the greddy type-s, type-rs
which is better sounding? |
Re: best sounding blow off?
I like my Ebay Special. Nice Solid CHHSSSSSSHHH. Not to loud, but enough to get noticed when you want.
But if I had to get a new one it would be the HKS SSQ or a Greddy. I heard the Greddy knockoffs are nice. |
Re: best sounding blow off?
yeah so did i. but i heard the type-s is better then the type-rs and the type-r is the best so i dunno lol
|
Re: best sounding blow off?
i like the type s for lower boost, but mine tends to leak with anything over 20 psi so i just traded it for an ssqv. if you don't ever plan or running 20 or more psi, i would get the type s. it has a better sound than the rs and the r is designed for higher boost also.
|
Re: best sounding blow off?
cool. my moms buyin it for me becuz my car got broken itto yesterday. haha. shes gettin it to make me feel better ;D but even on my ls motor i don't think i'm going to run more then 20 psi.

HKS SSQ is the bomb
|
Re: best sounding blow off?
sound wise, the only other thing i would have bought instead of my hks would have been the type s. my bro had one on his talon and it sounded ------- sweet. but i got the hks instead just because i knew it would never leak
|
Re: best sounding blow off?

Re: best sounding blow off?

Re: best sounding blow off?
Just roll down your window and yell "I have a turbo" every time you shift ::) if you're serious about performance, get a recirculating bypass valve rather than a tmospheric blow off valve which does absolutely NOTHING geared towards performance.
|
Re: best sounding blow off?
Nothing sounds sexier then when a 6L turbo dump truck blow off.
|
Re: best sounding blow off?
I like the 1st gen DSM's since I have one, sounds just right, I want a Greddy Type S, Alot of people I know have it, it sounds a lil bit better than mine

Actually, all BOV's do nothing for performance. Recirculating it isn't going to magically make the car faster. |

Re: best sounding blow off?
I just want to add another vote for the greddy type s (and the knockoff assuming its really identical). I don't care about sound.... it 'sounds' fine i guess... i do like the boost assist though. Just hooked it up yesterday and my really low psi compressor surge is gone now... it'll blowoff at low psi now instead of not... because its adjusted for higher boost.

just go get a aircompresser put it in your car and ever time you shift just pull the plug now thats the best sounds quality
|

actually all blow off valves DO do something for performance. you ever watched a boost gauge on a car with no bov between shifts? ;) |

Therefore a BOV that never opens while racing does absolutely nothing for performance except adds the possibility of leaking therefore hurting performance. Whitey has now just proven that BOV's actually makes your car slower;) |
