where is the best place to put the oil drain on the oil pan on a d16

right above the plug on the back.
depends on where you turbo sits just go straight from there and then as high up as possible on the pan, use extra jb weld ;) |

weld it and don't use jb weld, I've never had good luck with jb weld. :-\

My JB welded pan is holding strong with no leaks for over 2 years.

ive never used either...i just drill a hole thats the right size for the fitting and thread that fucker in there

I agree, JB weld works great, have mine that way with no leaks!

its easier, cheaper, and faster to just mig weld it in there. And you can use it in 10 mins if u want.

You're right, providing you have a mig welder. One of the better investments i ever made!
